June 10 the Kani-Kurgan road border crossing checkpoint in the Khabarovsk Customs’ zone saw a year since the start of operations, the Far Eastern Customs Administration press office has reported.
During that time, some 17,000 trucks passed the Russia-China border via Kani-Kurgan. 8,500 of them entered Russia from China, and 8,400 left Russia for China.
Besides, the customs checkpoint cleared 14,700 new specialized road vehicles and machines from China, mainly dump trucks, haulers, wheel loaders, cement mixers, and cranes.
Cargo traffic via Kani=Kurgan amounted to 371.8 thousand tons, including 358.1 thousand tons of imports and 13,7 thousand tons of exports.
Much of the import nomenclature was new specialized vehicles and machines, equipment, electric devices, and consumer goods, while export consisted mainly of soybeans and oil, sawn goods and cosmetics.
Since January 2023, the road border checkpoint Kani-Kurgan has been operating 24 hours a day. Since the start of operations, the capacity of the checkpoint has almost doubled from 75 vehicles to 190 vehicles a day.
The Kani-Kurgan border crossing checkpoint started operating on June 10, 2022 as the first trucks crossed the Russia-China border by the newly built bridge over the Amur River.
