FESCO Transport Group has added a new container ship that was named “Moskva” to its fleet. She is the second of the six state of the art newbuildings to join FESCO’s container fleet this year.
The 2023-built 172 m LOA and 32.2 m beam ship has a deadweight of 31,407 tons and a container capacity of 2,471 TEU and is managed by a crew of 19.
The ship is named after the historic “Moskva” steamship that inaugurated the first regular passenger and freight service to the Russian Far East back in 1880.
The new “Moskva” will be deployed in the service FESCO operates between China and St. Petersburg. She set sail for her maiden voyage on April 26 from Shanghai.
Now that FESCO has taken delivery of the “Moskva”, the Group’s fleet consists of 33 vessels.
The series of six state of the art containerships was ordered by FESCO in summer last year, FESCO Board Chairman Andrey Severilov said.
