RZD Logstics has launched a new direct reefer train service from Moscow to Xian. The train carrying meat and poultry is routed via the territory of Kazakhstan, the company said in a statement.
Previously, intermodal delivery involving shipping by sea was used, which meant longer transit time. The new service will be weekly and offer shorter delivery time.
“China remains one of the main export markets for Russian agricultural producers. Delivery geography is constantly expanding, with new routes being launched, and we pay special attention to developing direct rail services that offer shorter delivery time thus guaranteeing the best quality of the goods transported,” Dmitry Murev, MD of RZD Logsitcsi, commented.
