Russia – EU Trade Turnover Down 53% YoY in January 2023

  • In January 2023, the trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union dropped 53.4% year-on-year down to 12.9 bn euro.

    According to Eurostat, while exports from EU countries into Russia were down 45.1% during the period under report to 3.9 bn euro, import from Russia to the European Union declined by 56.3% down to 9 bn euro.

    In January 2023, Russia continued to rate the ninth largest importer from the EU.

    Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia stepped down to the sixth position after China, the USA, Great Britain, Norway and Switzerland.
