Azerbaijan-Flagged Vessels Allowed to Transit from Caspian to Sea of Azov

  • The RF Government has granted a multiple permit for 17 Azerbaijan-flagged vessels to transit from the Caspian to the Sea of Azov via the Volga River and the Volga-Don Sea Channel from Astrakhan to Rostov-na-Donu. A decree to this effect was signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on March 4.

    The vessels permitted to transit Russia’s inland waterways are “Garadagh”, “Teymur Ehmedov”, “Maestro Niyazi”, “Gafur Mammadov”, “Uzeyir Hajibeyli”, “Natavan”, “Rasul Rza”, “Huseyn Javid”, “General Aslanov”, “Shair Sabir”, ”Shair Vagif”, “Mahmud Rehimov”, “Ganja”, “Professor Aziz Aliyev”, “Lachin”, “Kalbajar”, “Akademik Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh”.

    The vessels are to undergo border and customs procedures and sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary control in the border crossing checkpoints in ports open for foreign vessels to call.
