Krasnow Sormovo Shipyard has been awarded a contract to build a series of three cruise liners, Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation said in a statement.
The vessels will be built to an optimized version of PV300 Design using state of the art technology. The first ship is to set off on her maiden voyage in 2025, and the other two in 2026.
They cruise liners be deployed in the Black, Caspian and White Sea, in the Gulf of Finland and in the inland waterways. In winter, an option to use the ships as floatels is being considered.
According to Viktor Yevtukhov, Deputy Minister of industry and trade, the vessels will have a passenger capacity of 180.
He reminded that in 2022 the RF Government allocated 15 bn rubles to build seven civil ships, and the three liners to be built at Krasnoe Sormovo are part of this programme.
