First Tea Block Train from China to Russia

  • August 26, the first specialized block train laden with tea produced in Hubei Province in China left from Wuhan for Russia, the Government of Hebei press office announced.

    The Chinese province is promoting tea production and export, Hubei ranks the first in terms of tea plantation territory and production volume and the fourth in terms of exports among the Chinese provinces. Last year, Hebei exported $73 mn worth of tea.

    According to the RF trade office in China, the specialized tea train carries 50 containers laden with some 1,000 tons of tea. It is planned to send ‘tea’ trains from Wuhan to Russia regularly.
