Belarus to Export Fertilizers via Murmansk

  • A meeting between the government of Murmansk Oblast and major businesses from Belarus was held in Murmansk, Vice Governor of Murmansk Oblast Olga Kuznetsova said in her social media account.

She said that Murmansk and Belarussian companies are interested in cooperation on mutual projects. Plans to organize shipping fertilizers made in Belarus via Murmansk port was in a special focus of the meeting participants, she added.

After Belruskaliy, Belarus’ major fertilizers manufacturer, was included into the sanctioned companies list, the company had to reorient its exports from the traditional routes to Russian ports in St. Petersburg and Vladivostok.

Belarus has also voiced an intention to build a port of its own in Bronka in the Baltic where the government of St. Petersburg allocated a land plot to Belaruskaliy.

Belarusian fertilizers account for some 20% of the global fertilizer exports.
