LNG FSRU Project for Kamchatka

  • RF President Vladimir Putin has made a decision and gave instructions to build a floating terminal to unload, store and regasify LNG with related infrastructure in the Rakovaya Bay on the Kamchatka Peninsula.

The project envisages building two LNG carriers to deliver liquefied natural gas from the LNG terminal currently under construction in the Bechevinskaya Bay (the latter project is developed by Novatek).

The terms of reference for the LNG tankers and the FSRU have already been developed, and the basic technical solutions have been drafted, the press office of the RF Government says.

The Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex has demonstrated interest in contracting the building of the vessels for the project.
