Novatek-Murmansk, a subsidiary of Novatek, has inaugurated a workshop to assemble production modules for Arctic LNG 2 project on the territory of the Center for the construction of large-tonnage offshore structures.
According to the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, the facility is the largest workshop in Russia measuring 93 meters high, 280 meters long and 345 meters wide.
The Center of large-tonnage offshore structures is currently completing the construction of the first gas liquefaction train for the Arctic LNG 2 project, the construction of the second train is underway.
The workshop to assemble production modules consists of five sections, each of them can accommodate up to three modules of the floating LNG production facility upper structure.
After the modules are assembled, they will be shipped by sea to the GYdan Peninsula, where the Utrenneye field, the main resource base of Arctic LNG 2 project, is located.
The Arctic LNG 2 project developed by Novatek consists of three production trains with a total capacity of 19.8 mn tons of LNG and up to 1.6 mn tons of stable condensed gas per annum.
