Ter ro-ro terminal in the port of Tuapse has commences export operations, Tuapse Commercial Port said. The first test shipment of 60 tons was stuffed into semi-trailer and loaded on board a vessel that left for Samsun in Turkey on April 28. The next vessel was loaded in early May.
The ro-ro terminal in Tuapse was put into operation more than a decade ago and was used to handle imported cargo, mainly fruit and vegetables from Turkey.
Recently, under the changing logistics conditions, the demand for export transportation has increased. The terminal can handle packaged flour, bottled sunflower oil, and other food products in big bags or on pallets.
Tuapse Commercial Port mainly specializes on handling oil and products, coal and ferrous metals. According to SeaNews PORTSTAT online service, inQ1 2022 the stevedore handled 54.5 thousand tons of cargo, down 9.2% year-on-year.
