Russia’s Crude Oil Export Up in January-November 2021

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service, Russia’s crude oil export in January-November 2021 was down 4.5% year-on-year to 210.4 mn tons. In terms of value, crude oil export increased by 49.7% year-on-year making $99.4 bn.

    Oil products export grew by 2.6% up to 130.1 mn tons. In terms of value it was up 51.9% to than $61.8 bn.

    Diesel fuel export made 44.4 mn tons in terms of tonnage (-2.6% year-on-year) and more than $23 bn in terms of value (+29.4%).

    Petrol export in January-November 2021 decreased by 24.8% year-on-year down to some 4.1 mn tons worth more than $2.3 bn, up 13.6%.

    In November, Russia exported 17.7 mn tons of crude oil, down 9.5% year-on-year and down 10.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, crude oil export grew by 69.9% year-on-year and declined by 8.8% month-on-month to make $9.9 bn.

    Oil products export in November increased by 5% year-on-year and declined by 3.9% month-on-month to make 10.7 mn tons worth $6.2 bn (up 2-fold year-on-year and up 16.5% month-on-month).

    Diesel fuel export made 3.4 mn tons (down 6.5% year-on-year and down 10.9% month-on-month) worth $2.3 bn (up 96.7% year-on-year and up 5.9% month-on-month).

    Car petrol export in November declined by 5.4% year-on-year and increased by 16.7% month-on-month making 301.9 thousand tons worth $230.6 mn, up 2.1-fold year-on-year and up 19.7% month-on-month.

    Natural gas export in January-November 2021 amounted to 186.8 bn cbm, up 4.7% year-on-year. In terms of value, it surged 2.1-fold up to $47 bn.

    Liquefied natural gas export during January-November 2021 declined by 3.2% year-on-year down to 63.1 mn cbm, its value was up 4.3% to more than $6.8 bn.

    In November, natural gas export made 14.3 bn cbm, down 21.9% year-on-year and up 2.9% month-on-month. Value-wise, it was worth $7.2 bn, up 2.5-fold year-on-year and up 16.8% month-on-month.

    LNG export in November amounted to 3.5 mn cbm, down 56.8% and up 44.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, LNG export was up 6% year-on-year and down 44.3% month-on-month making $522.9 mn.
