Russia to Close Sea Ports for “Unfriendly” Countries’ Ships

  • Russia is preparing to introduce reciprocal measures in respect of vessels of unfriendly countries, the press office of the RF Government said.

According to governmental decree No418 of March 21, 2022, decisions pertaining to allowing or refusing vessels controlled or operated by a particular unfriendly country an entry to Russian sea ports will be subject of separate governmental order.

A decision to grant or deny vessels of a particular country a permission to enter Russian sea port will be based on the information about the sanctions implemented against Russian vessels provided by the Ministry of foreign affairs.

The ban implemented may be lifted after the country that denied Russian-flagged vessels entry to its ports cancels that discriminatory decision.
