Russia Forbids Export of Foreign-Made Medical Devices

  • The Russian Federation has imposed a temporary ban on exporting medical equipment and devices of foreign make. A governmental decree to this effect was signed by Premier Mikhail Mishustin on March 6.

According to the press office of the Government, the decree targets medical equipment and devices that were imported into Russia from the countries that joined the anti-Russia sanctions and are stored at the importers’ warehouses or are being customs cleared.

The decision is expected to prevent deficit of medical devices in Russia due to the restrictions imposed by ‘unfriendly governments’ and is valid till December 31, 2022.
