According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in 2021 fresh and frozen meat import was down 17.3% to 223 thousand tons. Fresh and frozen poultry import increased by 5.9% to 242.2 thousand tons.
Fish import grew by 9.9% up to 433.6 thousand tons. Canned meat and meat specialties import was up 14.4% making 22.3 thousand tons.
Milk and condensed cream import was down 12% to 130.5 thousand tons. Butter import decreased by 5.9% down to 125.3 thousand tons. Cheese import grew by 4.1% up to 325.8 thousand tons.
Palm oil import was up 7.2% to 1.1 mn tons. Vegetable oil import grew by 7.7% making 1.4 thousand tons.
Citrus fruit import was up 0.6% to 1.71 mn tons. Banana import decreased by 4.1% down to 1.5 mn tons, and apple import by 5.8% down to 965.7 thousand tons.
Raw sugar import grew by 23.5% up to 10.5 thousand tons, white sugar import was down 10.6% to 150.7 thousand tons.
Coffee import in 2021 grew by 5.3% up to 243.4 thousand tons, and tea import by 4.2% up to 157.9 thousand tons.
In December, the following categories demonstrated a year-on-year growth in import volumes: palm oil (up 41.2% to 101.1 thousand tons), fish (up 4.8% to 50.5 thousand tons), cheese (up 1.4% to 29 thousand tons), fresh and frozen poultry (up 30.8% to 22.1 thousand tons), canned meat and meat specialties (up 57.1% to 2.2 thousand tons). Other food products import was down.
Month-on-month, the import of banana, cheese, milk, white sugar, raw sugar and canned meat and meat specialties declined, the rest of the food product categories under report were up.
Coffee import in December decreased by 17.2% year-on-year and by 32.4% month-on-month to make 16.9 thousand tons. Tea import was down 1.9% year-on-year and down 33.9% month-on-month to 10.5 thousand tons.
