According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during 2021 Russia imported 56.1 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 15.7% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import increased by 20% year-on-year up to $1.6 bn.
Clothes import into Russia grew by 14.9% up to $7.9 bn.
Cotton fabric import during 2021 was down 45.5% year-on-year to 360.6 mn sqm. In terms of value it increased by 28.7% up to $220.8 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia declined by 32.9% year-on-year down to 102.9 mn sqm worth $55 mn, up 6.8%.
In December 2021, leather footwear import grew by 33.3% year-on-year and by 53.8% month-on-month making 4 mn pairs worth $113.9 mn, up 10.6% year-on-year and up 35.4% month-on-month.
Clothes import was up 19.2% year-on-year and up 17.1% month-on-month to $657.9 mn.
Cotton fabric import in December 2021 declined by 0.3% year-on-year and increased by 26.1% month-on-month amounting to 33.5 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $23.4 mn, up 25.1% year-on-year and up 18.2% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export dropped by 65% year-on-year and by 22.5% month-on-month to make 28.3 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $5.4 mn, up 10.2% year-on-year and down 6.9% month-on-month.
