According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during 2021 Russia exported 43.5 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 8.4% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export surged by 80.4% up to $28.9 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was up 15.2% year-on-year to 15 mn tons. In terms of value, it increased by 89.3% up to more than $9.2 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in 2021 grew by 11.6% year-on-year up to 8.5 mn tons worth over $7.4 bn, up 2-fold.
Cast iron export declined by 6% year-on-year down to 3.9 mn tons worth $2 bn, up 52.5%.
Ferroalloys export in 2021 grew by 22.6% year-on-year up to 895.8 thousand tons worth $1.5 mn (+66.4%).
According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in December 2021 ferrous metals export was down 15.1% year-on-year and up 71.7% month-on-month to 4 mn tons. In terms of value, it grew by 46.9% year-on-year and by 55.5% month-on-month to make $2.8 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export in December 2021 was up 3.7% year-on-year and up 2.7-fold month-on-month making 1.4 mn tons. In terms of value, it increased by 80.9% year-on-year and surged 2.7-fold month-on-month to $952.2 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in December 2021 was down 14.2% year-on-year and down 4.7% month-on-month making 574.8 thousand tons worth $578.8 mn (up 60.2% year-on-year and up 3.6% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in December 2021 made 353.8 thousand tons, down 59.8% year-on-year and up 3.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $186.8 mn, down 34.9% year-on-year and down 1.7% month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in December 2021 was up 43.9% year-on-year and up 38.9% month-on-month to 75.3 thousand tons. In terms of value, it surged 2.3-fold year-on-year and grew by 45.2% month-on-month to make $161.5 mn.
