During 2021 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 17.3 mn tons, down 6.6% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was up 42.3% making over $6.1 bn.
Logs export decreased by 10.7% year-on-year down to 13.9 mn cbm worth slightly more than $1 bn, almost as much as in 2020.
Plywood export grew by 4.6% year-on-year to make 3 mn cbm worth $1.9 bn, up 67.2% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in 2021 amounted to 2 mn tons, down 11.8% year-on-year, worth $1.3 bn, up 30.3% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 922.1 thousand tons, down 13.1% year-on-year, worth $405.4 mn, up 12.3% year-on-year.
In December 2021, sawn goods export made 1.1 mn tons, down 18.4% year-on-year and down 10.2% month-on-month worth $454.4 mn, up 31.7% year-on-year and down 10.2% month-on-month.
Logs export made 687.3 thousand cbm, down 65.9% year-on-year and down 33.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined by 64.6% year-on-year and by 42.6% month-on-month to make $46.6 mn.
Plywood export in December 2021 made 283.2 thousand cbm, up 2% year-on-year and up 15% month-on-month. In terms of value, it grew by 62.1% year-on-year and decreased by 0.2% month-on-month making to $186.9 mn.
Wood pulp export made 176.6 thousand tons, down 21.9% year-on-year and down 2.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export increased by 5.9% year-on-year and declined by 9.3% month-on-month to make $112.8 mn.
Newsprint export grew by 9.7% year-on-year and declined by 4.8% month-on-month to make 76.1 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was up 74.2% year-on-year and down 0.9% month-to-month to $42.5 mn.
