RZD Logistics plans to launch a new Agroexpress block train for agriproducts between Penza in the Volga region in Russia and Harbin in China. The first train is to run in April this year, the company said.
The project is a cooperation between RZD Logistics, Russian Railways, the government of Penza Oblast and RusGrain Ltd. The parties have developed a roadmap to develop the project.
The train will be routed from Penza to Harbin via the border crossings of Zabaikalsk and Manzhouli. The stations of loading and transportation methods are to be defined. RZD Logistics-owned reefer containers are to be utilized.
The parties intend to integrate the web trade platform RZD Market operated by RZD Logistics into the international marketplace models operating in the Chinese market.
