According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-September 2021 fresh and frozen meat import was down 14.1% to 169.7 thousand tons. Fresh and frozen poultry import increased by 3.5% to 177.8 thousand tons. Fish import grew by 15.7% up to 300.8 thousand tons. Canned meat and meat specialties import declined by 0.7% making 15.2 thousand tons.
Milk and condensed cream import was down 14.2% to 71.2 thousand tons. Butter import decreased by 2.9% down to 95.5 thousand tons. Cheese import grew by 9.2% up to 244.8 thousand tons.
Palm oil import was up 7% to 802.7 thousand tons.
Citrus fruit import was up 2.7% to 969.5 thousand tons. Banana import decreased by 5.8% down to some 1.1 mn tons, and apple import declined by 0.9% down to 774.4 thousand tons.
Raw sugar import grew by 63.3% up to 8 thousand tons, white sugar import was down 7% to 111 thousand tons.
Coffee import in January-July grew by 6.4% up to 182.1 thousand tons, and tea import by 1.7% up to 116.5 thousand tons.
In September, the following categories demonstrated a year-on-year decrease in import volumes: citrus fruit, apples, fish, frozen poultry, milk and condensed cream, white sugar, canned meat and meat specialties.
Compared to August 2021, the import of citrus fruit, fish, and canned meat and meat specialties increased.
Coffee import in September, increased by 26.3% year-on-year and by 19.3% month-on-month to make 23.5 thousand tons. Tea import was down 2.6% year-on-year and up 17.3% month-on-month to 12.9 thousand tons.
