Freight Rates from Ust-Luga, Week 47, 2021

  • A decrease in freight rates is to be observed in the Baltic region. According to Sea Lines shipbrokers, a large number of shipowners seek to relocate their fleet from the Continent, but the amount of back cargoes is usually below the number of offers for ARAG.

On the average, 2-3 positions from 2,000 mt to 11,000 mt are opened a day, often on the spot, which leads to freight rates decrease. Charterers still prefer to look for ships a month in advance.

On week 47, freight rates for 3,000-5,000 dwt bulkers from Ust-Luga to Riga made €34 pmt and those to Gdansk were also €34 pmt.

Freight rates from Ust-Luga made €36 pmt to Szczecin, €40 to Flensburg, and €50 to Hamburg.

Rates from Ust-Luga were €55 pmt to ARAG, €57 pmt to East Britain, €60 pmt to West Britain, and €61 pmt to Dublin.

Please note that the rates cited in this article are average market rates. We ask our readers to pay attention that this information is not a commercial offer and cannot be an example for comparison in commercial disputes and arbitration.
