According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import in January-September 2021 was up 69.7% year-on-year to 260.3 thousand units. Truck import grew by 61.7% making 24.1 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import was up 76.7% year-on-year exceeding $6.1 bn. Truck import surged 2.2-fold to make $1.7 bn.
In September 2021, car import grew by 10.6% year-on-year and declined by 17.2% month-on-month to make 26 thousand units. Truck import made 2.7 thousand units, up 8% year-on-year and down 3.6% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import increased by 29.3% year-on-year and decreased by 4.9% month-on-month to make $637.7 mn in September. Truck import was worth $221 mn, up 77.7% year-on-year and up 38.7% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in January-September 2021 was up 46.6% year-on-year to 66.4 thousand units. Truck export during the first 9 months of the year increased by 10.7% year-on-year up to 9.3 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export during January-September grew by 55.6% year-on-year up to $1.1 bn. Truck export increased by 7.8% up to $240.7 mn.
In September, car export grew by 64.6% year-on-year and by 38.6% month-on-month to 7.9 thousand units. Truck export made 1 thousand units, down 16.7% year-on-year and level with August.
In terms of value, car export in September increased 80% year-on-year and by 36.1% month-on-month to make $128.9 mn. Truck export was worth $23.4 mn, down 37.1% year-on-year and down 24.5% month-on-month.
