FESCO Plans 450,000 TEU Dry Port in Zabaikalsk

  • FESCO Transportation Group, the RF Minister for the development of the Russian Far East and Arctic and the Governor of Zbaikalie Kray have discussed an investment project to build a transport and logistics center in the Zabaikalsk border crossing checkpoint on the Russian-Chinese border.

    The project envisages building a 450,000 TEU per annum container terminal, customs bonded warehouses, railway and other infrastructure. An option to develop an industrial park is considered.

    The estimated project cost is about 4 bn rubles ($56.6 mn). It is expected to create some 300 new jobs.

    FESCO already operates dry ports in Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk and Tomsk.
