During January-August 2021 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 12.2 mn tons, down 4.7% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was up 39.9% making $4.1 bn.
Logs export increased by 4.3% year-on-year up to over 9.9 mn cbm worth $727 mn, up 13.3% year-on-year.
Plywood export grew by 12.1% year-on-year to make 2.1 mn cbm worth $1.2 bn, up 58.8% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in January-August 2021 amounted to 1.4 mn tons, down 6.8% year-on-year worth $855.7 mn, up 34.3% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 611.5 thousand tons, down 21.1% year-on-year, worth $241.4 mn, down 8.1% year-on-year.
In August, sawn goods export made 1.5 mn tons, down 10.7% year-on-year and down 6.4% month-on-month worth $633.1 mn, up 62.8% year-on-year and down 17.9% month-on-month.
Logs export made more than 1 mn cbm, down 29.8% year-on-year and down 41.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 14.3% year-on-year and by 32.7% month-on-month to make $87.4 mn.
Plywood export in August, made 243.4 thousand cbm, up 15.4% year-on-year and down 2.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it grew 2.4-fold year-on-year and by 14.2% month-on-month amounting to $205.2 mn.
Wood pulp export made 161.2 thousand tons, down 20.1% year-on-year and down 7.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export increased by 45.6% year-on-year and declined by 6.7% month-on-month to make $124.5 mn.
Newsprint export declined by 29.9% year-on-year and increased by 8.2% month-on-month to make 73.9 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 0.6% year-on-year and up 10.9% month-to-month to $34.4 mn.
