FESCO Launches Block Train from St. Petersburg to Irkutsk

  • FESCO Transportation Group has announced launching a new rail container service branded Neva Baikal Shuttle from St. Petersburg to Irkutsk. The first train left St. Petersburg on October 3.

    The transit time to Irkutsk will make 6 days. The service frequency will be weekly. The target transportation volume is 500 TEU a month, mostly consumer goods.

    This is a fourth block train from St. Petersburg operated by FESCO. Earlier, the group launched rail container services to Vladivostok, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk.

    The new service is aimed to serve both import containers arriving to St. Petersburg by sea and domestic cargo from the Russian Northwest to the Russian Far East.
