According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import in January-July 2021 was up 82.5% year-on-year to 202.9 thousand units. Truck import grew by 82.4% making 18.6 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import was up 87.3% year-on-year amounting to $4.8 bn. Truck import surged 2.3-fold to make $1.3 bn.
In July 2021, car import grew by 58.5% year-on-year and declined by 18.9% month-on-month to make 27.1 thousand units. Truck import made 3 thousand units, up 66.7% year-on-year and up 30.4% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import increased by 84.8 year-on-year and decreased by 5.5% month-on-month to make $663.4 mn in July. Truck import was worth $206.8 mn, up 2.1-fold year-on-year and up 1.6% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in January-July 2021 was up 44.3% year-on-year to 52.8 thousand units. Truck export during the first 7 months of the year increased by 12.5% year-on-year up to 7.2 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export during January-July grew by 52.2% year-on-year up to $836.7 mn. Truck export increased by 12.1% up to $186.3 mn.
In July, car export grew by 45% year-on-year and by 4.8% month-on-month to 8.7 thousand units. Truck export made 1.2 thousand units, up 71.4% year-on-year and down 7.7% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in July increased 41.3% year-on-year and declined by 9.6% month-on-month to make $124.2 mn. Truck export was worth $25.4 mn, up 34.4% year-on-year and down 23.9% month-on-month.
