Russia’s shipbuilding complex Zvezda has launched its second green Aframax tanker, the second vessel in a series of twelve 114,000 dwt units. The first ship in the series, the “Vladimir Monomakh”, as delivered to the customers in December 2020. (Monomakh).
The vessels are designed for transporting oil and products in an unlimited navigation area and have an ICE-IA notation. They measure 205 m LOA and 44 m beam and have a speed of 14.6 knots.
The tankers have a sauna, a swimming pool, a gym, and high-speed internet on board, each crew member will have a separate cabin.
After launching the tanker was towed to the fitting-out quay where it will undergo mooring trials and its systems and equipment will be tested before sea trials and delivery to the customer.
Out of the twelve Aframax tankers in Zvezda’s portfolio, ten were ordered by Rosnefteflot, a fleet management company of Russia’s oil major Rosneft. At present, the yard is building six tankers of the type.
