Container Traffic via Azov and Black Sea Basin Ports in July 2021 Up 26%

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in July 2021 increased by 26% year-on-year. Import was up 19.2%, export up 32.3%. Cabotage was non-existent in July 2021.

    The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in July 2021 amounted to 12.7%.

    Laden container throughput grew by 32% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 7.1% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 92.9%. Exports made 52.6% of all the laden containers, imports 47.4%.

    Empty container traffic increased by 4.3%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 98.8% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in July. Azov handled 1.1%, and Kavkaz 0.2% of the total.
