According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import in January-June 2021 was up 86.7% year-on-year to 175.7 thousand units. Truck import grew by 83.3% making 15.4 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import was up 87.6% year-on-year amounting to $4.1 bn. Truck import surged 2.3-fold to make $1.1 bn.
In June 2021, car import surged by 98.8% year-on-year and grew by 5.7% month-on-month to make 33.4 thousand units. Truck import made 2.3 thousand units, up 43.8% year-on-year and down 17.9% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import surged 2.2-fold year-on-year and decreased by 1.7% month-on-month to make $701.8 mn in June. Truck import was worth $203.5 mn, up 2.7-fold year-on-year and up 4.3% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in January-June 2021 was up 44.1% year-on-year to 44.1 thousand units. Truck export during the first 6 months of the year increased by 7% year-on-year up to 6.1 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export during January-June grew by 54.6% year-on-year up to $712.5 mn. Truck export increased by 8.8% up to $160.8 mn.
In June, car export grew by 45.6% year-on-year and by 10.7% month-on-month to 8.3 thousand units. Truck export made 1.3 thousand units, down 27.8% year-on-year, but up 8.3% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in June increased 30.2% year-on-year and by 12.5% month-on-month to make $137.4 mn. Truck export was worth $33.4 mn, up 12.1% year-on-year and up 33.1% month-on-month.
