Test Shipment from Finland to India Quicker than Expected

  • RZD Logistics and Nurminen Logistics Services have completed the test shipment from Finland to India via Russia and Azerbaijan. The block train carrying 32 40’ units left Vuosaari on June 21 and crossed the border to Azerbaijan on June 26.

The train transited the territory of Russia and Azerbaijan to the station of Astara in 6 days. From Astara, the containers were delivered to the port of Bandar Abbas and shipped to Nhava Sheva in India.

The transit time from Vuosaari to Nhava-Sheva made 18 days instead of the earlier expected 22 days. Taking into account the time spent in the port waiting for loading on board the ship, the delivery took 30 days.

RZD Logistics believes the North-South Corridor has good prospects and plans launching regular service using this route.
