According to the RF Federal Customs Service, during January-May 2021 Russia exported more than 1.2 mn tons of unwrought aluminum, up 48.2% year-on-year. In terms of value, unwrought aluminum export increased by 48.5% year-on-year up to $2 bn.
Refined copper and unwrought copper alloys export grew by 5.9% year-on-year making 263.4 thousand tons worth $2.1 bn, up 56.4% year-on-year.
Unwrought nickel export in January-May 2021 decreased by 16.9% year-on-year amounting to 28.1 thousand tons worth $481.4 mn, up 13.8% year-on-year.
In May, unwrought aluminum export made 255.7 thousand tons, up 89.5% year-on-year and up 3.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, unwrought aluminum export surged 2.2-fold year-on-year and grew by 11.8% month-on-month to make $472.8 mn.
Refined copper and unwrought copper alloys export was up 18.9% year-on-year but down 31.8% month-on-month to 49.1 thousand tons worth $430.3 mn, up 2.1-fold year-on-year and down 28.4% month-on-month.
Unwrought nickel export in May was up 2.1-fold year-on-year and up 34.9% month-on-month to 8.5 thousand tons. In terms of value, it surged 2.9-fold year-on-year and increased by 34.1% month-on-month to make $138.5 mn.
