TransContainer has launched a containerized rail service to carry readymade cars from China to Russia.
The first block train loaded with 50 containers arrived from Dalian in China to Krasnoyarsk in Siberia in Russia on July 4. The transit time made 11 days including terminal handling at the Zabaikalsk/Manzhouli border crossing.
The next shipment is planned for July, the regular service frequency will make 2-3 trains a month.
According to Vladimir Khlutkov, Business Development Director, APR, TransContainer, this is the company’s first regular service for car import. In future, the company expects to expand the service geography to other Russian regions and to Europe.
