During January-March 2021 Russia’s export of sawn goods made 3.7 mn tons, down 9.4% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was up 6.2% making $1.03 bn.
Logs export increased by 17.1% year-on-year up to 3.4 mn cbm worth $259.2 mn, up 28.2% year-on-year.
Plywood export grew by 5.4% year-on-year to make 775.1 thousand cbm worth $346.5 mn, up 22.1% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in Q1 2021 amounted to 512 thousand tons, down 7.9% year-on-year worth $247.4 mn, up 7% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 220.4 thousand tons, down 26.1% year-on-year, worth $74.9 mn, down 28.3% year-on-year.
In March, sawn goods export made 1.6 mn tons, up 2.6% year-on-year and up 31.6% month-on-month worth $449.9 mn, up 30.8% year-on-year and up 38.6% month-on-month.
Logs export made 1.2 mn cbm, down 2.5% year-on-year and up 6.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 3.5% year-on-year and by 3.1% month-on-month to make $94.5 mn.
Plywood export in March, made 293.7 thousand cbm, up 10.7% year-on-year and up 13.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it grew by 29.5% year-on-year and by 24.2% month-on-month making to $137.1 mn.
Wood pulp export made 180.7 thousand tons, down 5.4% year-on-year and up 10.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export increased by 19.7% year-on-year and by 21.7% month-on-month to make $93.7 mn.
Newsprint export declined by 30.8% year-on-year and increased by 6.5% month-on-month to make 75.6 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 30% year-on-year and up 10.4% month-to-month to $26.6 mn.
