Reefer Containers Made in Russia to be Tested on Sakhalin

  • The first reefer containers designed and manufactured by Uralvagonzavod’s Omsk transport machinery plant have been handed over to two major Russian logistics companies for test operation, Rostech reports.

The 40’ units were certified this January and patented in March. Provided the test operations prove a success, Omsk transport machinery plant will start seral manufacturing of the model.

During the test period, the containers will be used to carry ice cream from Omsk to Novosibirsk by road, from there they will be transported by rail to Vladivostok and shipped to the island of Sakhalin to be stuffed with seafood designated for mainland Russia.
