FESCO Delivers First Intermodal Fish Shipment from Russia to Germany

  • FESCO Group has announced delivering the first shipment of fish products in reefer containers from Vladivostok to Germany via St. Petersburg using the TransSiberian Railway.

    49 40’ units laden with minced pollock and pollock fillet were delivered from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg on FESCO’s regular train service and were loaded on board a vessel to arrive at Bermerhafen on April 12.

    The overall transit time made 33 days, twice as fast as via the Suez Chanel. FESCO expects the new logistics scheme will allow Russian fish products exporters expand their presence in European markets.

    The train delivery was carried out by Dalreftrans, part of FESCO Group and operator of railway reefer rolling stock. The company owns some 2,000 reefer units and 300 platforms.
