During January-February 2021, cargo volume carried by all transport modes in the RF transport system was down 5.3% year-on-year to 1.086 bn tons.
According to the RF Statistics Agency, the largest volume was carried by road, down 8.4% year-on-year to 680.7 mn tons.
Rail cargo traffic declined by 0.9% year-on-year down to 198 mn tons.
Pipeline traffic was up 2.4% year-on-year to 200.9 mn tons.
Sea freight decreased by 25.2% year-on-year down to 2.69 mn tons.
Inland shipping volume declined by 15.9% year-on-year down to 3.87 mn tons.
Air transport carried 0.19 mn tons, up 33.6% year-on-year.
In February, in comparison with the previous month, cargo transportation volume increased by road, while all the other transport modes were down.
