Rosatom to Build Container Terminal in Murmansk Region

  • Rusatom Cargo, a logistics subsidiary of Russia’ nuclear Rosatom corporation, intends to build a container terminal in Murmansk region.

    The company is implementing a large-scale project branded Northern Sea Transit Route and aimed at developing an international logistics system to provide shipping service between Europe and East Asia via the Northern Sea Route.

    The project will rely on hubs in Primorie region, Sakhalin and Kamchatka in the Russian Far East and on a new terminal to be developed on the western shore of the Kola Bay in Murmansk region.

    The terminal will be used to transship container delivered from Europe onto ice strengthened vessels to be transported along the Northern Sea Route.
