Urals Design Wagon Building Bureau, a subsidiary of Russia’s Uralvagonzavod, has developed a fitting platform for container transportation. The prototype has been successfully tested and is undergoing certification procedures, Rostech said in a statement.
The platform is designed to transport containers with a gross weight up to 36 tons and tank container including those with dangerous cargo. The model utilizes a strengthened 18-555 type bogie.
The product was designed in cooperation with five potential customers. Urals Design Wagon Building Bureau hopes there will be a high demand for the new platform in Russia.
