According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports in February 2021 increased by 2.8% year-on-year.
Export grew by 3.9%, import by 6.6%, and transit was up 7.4%. Cabotage, on the contrary, declined by 17.6%.
Laden container throughput via the Russian sea ports was up 8.5%. Reefer containers accounted for 13.9% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 86.1%. Imports made 50% of all the laden containers, exports 36.8%, cabotage 9.4%, and transit 3.8%.
Empty container traffic decreased by 16%.
The Baltic basin accounted for 44.9% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian sea ports in February. The Far East basin handled 33.2%, the Azov and Black Sea basin accounted for 18.9%, the Arctic basin for 2.9% and the Caspian basin for 0.1% of the total.
