According to the RF Federal Customs Service, Russia’s crude oil export in 2020 was down 10.8% year-on-year to 238.6 mn tons. In terms of value, crude oil export decreased by 40.4% year-on-year making slightly over $72.4 bn.
Oil products export declined by 0.7% down to 141.8 mn tons. In terms of value it was down 32.2% to $45.3 bn.
Diesel fuel export made 53.2 mn tons in terms of tonnage (+3.5% year-on-year) and $19.4 bn in terms of value (-32.5%).
Petrol export in 2020 increased by 12.4% year-on-year up to 5.8 mn tons worth more than $2.2 bn, down 23.7%.
In December, Russia exported 18.1 mn tons of crude oil, down 14.3% year-on-year and down 7.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, crude oil export declined by 38.7% year-on-year and grew by 1.1% month-on-month to make $5.9 bn.
Oil products export in December increased by 7.6% year-on-year and by 46.5% month-on-month to make 14.9 mn tons worth $4.7 bn (down 23.8% year-on-year and up 53.5% month-on-month).
Diesel fuel export made 4.8 mn tons (down 2.2% year-on-year and up 32.3% month-on-month) worth $1.6 bn (down 39.5% year-on-year and up 40.9% month-on-month).
Car petrol export in December declined by 56.2% year-on-year and increased by 17.6% month-on-month making 375.5 thousand tons worth $145.2 mn, down 70.8% year-on-year and up 30.1% month-on-month.
Natural gas export in 2020 amounted to 199.2 bn cbm, down 9.4% year-on-year. In terms of value, it also declined, by 39.4% down to $25.2 bn.
Liquefied natural gas export during 2020 increased by 4.4% year-on-year up to 68.3 mn cbm, its value was down 14.8% to $6.8 bn.
In December, natural gas export made 19.7 bn cbm, down 5.7% year-on-year and up 7.7% month-on-month. Value-wise, it was worth $3.1 bn, down 20.7% year-on-year and up 8.4% month-on-month.
LNG export in December amounted to 3.1 mn cbm declining by 13.9% year-on-year and by 61.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, LNG export decreased by 2.8% year-on-year and by 46.3% month-on-month making $264.4 mn.
