Grain Railway Terminal to be Built in Zabaikalsky Kray

  • The construction of new railway grain terminal has started in Zabaikalsky Kray at Zabaikalsk-Mazhouli. The facility aimed for exporting grain to China is planned to be inaugurated in 2023.

    The annual capacity of the Zabaikalsk-Mazhouli terminal will make up to 8 mn tons of grain, beans and oilseeds. The storage capacity of the terminal will make up to 80 thousand tons.

    The terminal will be connected to the Zabaikalsk railway station. The regional authorities believe the rail terminal will help reduce export costs as the terminal is located closed to the Chinese border than sea ports.

    The estimated cost of the project is 6.3 bn rubles ($83.9 mn).
