Russia Amends Grain Export Dues

  • The Russian Government has amended export dues for wheat, barley and corn in order to stabilize the prices in the domestic market. A decree to this effect was signed by Premier Mikhail Mishustin on January 23, 2021.

    According to the decree, new export dues are as follows:

    • 25 euro per ton of wheat during February 15-28;
    • 0 euro per ton of barley and corn during February 15 – March 14;
    • 50 euro per ton of wheat during March 1 – June 30:
    • 10 euro per ton of barley during March 15 – June 30;
    • 25 euro per ton of corn during March 15 – June 30.

    The dues above are applied to export consignments shipped in the framework of the tariff quota set at 17.5 mn tons. All exports above the quota limit will be subject to a due making 50% of the customs value of shipments, but no less than 100 euro per ton.

    The new export dues apply to grain exported from Russia outside the Customs Union. They are expected to reduce grain exports stimulating producers to export added-value agricultural products.
