According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-November 2020 Russia exported 177.5 mn tons of coal, down 5.3% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $11.2 bn, down 23.8% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report made 20.2 mn tons, up 4.8% year-on-year, worth $284.7 mn, down 15.4% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export in January-November 2020 made more than 2.4 mn tons, down 4.6% year-on-year, worth $443.1 mn (-26.6% year-on-year).
In November, coal export made 17.3 mn tons, down 3.2% year-on-year and up 24.7% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export dropped by 19.3% year-on-year and grew by 26.8% month-on-month making more than $1 bn.
Coke and coal char export in November amounted to 255.7 thousand tons, up 18.8% year-on-year and down 23.1% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $47.9 mn, up 7.4% year-on-year and down 19.4% month-on-month.
