TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Grain Throughput in January-November 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the grain throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-November 2020 amounted to 45.8 mn tons (+31.6%). It should be noted that grain accounts for 6.1% of the total throughput.

    Novorossiysk Grain Terminal is the leader in terms of grain throughput with 10.2 mn tons.

    Kavkaz Logistic saw its grain traffic surge 2.4-fold up to 4.8 mn tons.

    KSK Grain Terminal in Novorossiysk handled 4.6 mn tons, up 51.3% year-on-year.

    Grain throughput via RIF Trade House in Azov grew by 21.5% up to 3.2 mn tons.

    Aston in Rostov-on-Don handled 3 mn tons (+70%).

    It should be noted that the highest growth was in TEK Yuzhny Sea Port in Azov (up 8.4-fold), the high growth rate resulting from the fact the terminal started handling grain in October 2019. Astrakhan Port saw its grain traffic surge 2.7-fold, Commercial Center, Transport & Les in the Big Port of St. Petersburg was up 2.6-fold.

    The largest decrease in grain traffic was in Astrakhan South Port (-77.3%), Sevastopol Sea Port (-70.9%) and Kerch Fishing Port (-70.1%).
