Container Traffic via Azov and Black Sea Basin Ports in November 2020 Up 9.9%

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in November 2020 increased by 9.9% year-on-year. Import was up 9.5%, export up 10.7%. Transit declined by 40.5%. Cabotage was non-existent in November.

    The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in November 2020 amounted to 15.9%.

    Laden container throughput grew by 18.1% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 23.3% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 76.7%. Imports made 57.4% of all the laden containers, exports 42.5%, transit 0.1%.

    Empty container traffic decreased by 15.5%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 98.9% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in November. Azov handled 1.1% of the total.
