According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-October 2020 Russia exported 160.2 mn tons of coal, down 5.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $10.2 bn, down 24.2% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report made 18.1 mn tons, up 2.9% year-on-year, worth $252.6 mn, down 18.4% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export in January-October 2020 made 2.2 mn tons, down 6.7% year-on-year, worth $395.2 mn (-29.3% year-on-year).
In October, coal export made 13.9 mn tons, down 12.7% year-on-year and down 31.2% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export declined by 27.6% year-on-year and by 31.9% month-on-month making $802.9 mn.
Coke and coal char export in October amounted to 332.4 thousand tons, up 36.6% year-on-year and up 48.7% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $59.4 mn, up 13.8% year-on-year and up 51.9% month-on-month.
