Fertilizers Export in January-September 2020: Export of Nitric and Potash Fertilizers Up

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-September 2020 Russia exported 10.6 mn tons of nitric fertilizers, up 0.9% year-on-year. In terms of value, nitric fertilizers export declined by 12.4% down to $1.9 bn.

    Mixed fertilizers export amounted to 8 mn tons, down 1.7% year-on-year. In terms of value, mixed fertilizers export decreased by 19.6% down to $2 bn.

    Potash fertilizers export during January-September 2020 grew by 8.2% up to 6.9 mn tons. In terms of value, it declined by 21.4% down to $1.3 bn.

    In September, nitric fertilizers export grew by 9.9% year-on-year, and by 28.7% month-on-month making 1.54 mn tons worth $278.6 mn (up 5.9% year-on-year and up 33.9% month-on-month).

    Mixed fertilizers export in September declined by 22.5% year-on-year and increased by 7.9% month-on-month to make 976.1 thousand tons worth $255.1 mn, down 32.1% year-on-year and up 12.6% month-on-month. 

    Potash fertilizers export made more than 1 mn tons, up 11.5% year-on-year and up 19.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 22.4% year-on-year and grew by 19.4% month-on-month to make $177 mn.
