During January-March 2020 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 12.8 mn tons, down 4.2% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was down 4% making $2.9 bn.
Logs export decreased by 5.8% year-on-year down to 9.5 mn cbm worth $641.8 mn, down 12.3% year-on-year.
Plywood export increased by 0.1% year-on-year to make 1.9 mn cbm worth $746 mn, down 5% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export during the first 8 months 2020 amounted to 1.5 mn tons, up 7.5% year-on-year worth $637.1 mn, down 14.4% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 774.8 thousand tons, down 7.3% year-on-year, worth $262.7 mn, down 33.6% year-on-year.
In August, sawn goods export made 1.7 mn tons, down 0.6% year-on-year and down 10.9% month-on-month worth $388.9 mn, up 2.8% year-on-year and down 7.8% month-on-month.
Logs export made 1.5 mn cbm, up 32.9% year-on-year and down 8.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 29.1% year-on-year and declined by 11.6% month-on-month to make $91.5 mn.
Plywood export in August, made 210.9 thousand cbm, down 13.1% year-on-year and down 6.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 10.2% year-on-year and by 6.4% month-on-month making to $85.3 mn.
Wood pulp export made 201.8 thousand tons, up 16.3% year-on-year and up 5.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export grew by 7.7% year-on-year and declined by 0.7% month-on-month to make $85.5 mn.
Newsprint export decreased by 7.7% year-on-year and was up 19.1% month-on-month to make 105.5 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 27.2% year-on-year and up 18.1% month-to-month to $34.6 mn.
