According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import in January-August 2020 was down 34.1% year-on-year to 129.7 thousand units. Truck import during the first 8 months of 2020 declined by 33.3% year-on-year down to 12.4 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-August decreased by 43.5% year-on-year down to $2.9 bn. Truck import dropped by 50.3% down to $647.7 mn.
According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in August 2020, car import was down 27.5% year-on-year and up 8.2% month-on-month to make 18.5 thousand units. Truck import made 2.1 thousand units, down 12.5% year-on-year and up 16.7% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import decreased by 39.1% year-on-year, but grew by 10.4% month-on-month to make $396.1 mn in August. Truck import was worth $81.9 mn, down 33.9% year-on-year and down 15.8% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in January-August 2020 dropped by 44.9% year-on-year to 40.4 thousand units. Truck export declined by 13.1% making 7.3 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was down 42% year-on-year amounting to $609.4 mn. Truck export decreased by 14.9% to make $186 mn.
In August, car export dropped by 57.3% year-on-year and by 36.7% month-on-month down to 3.8 thousand units. Truck export made 900 units, down 18.2% year-on-year and up 28.6% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in August decreased by 55.8% year-on-year and by 33.3% month-on-month to make $58.6 mn. Truck export was worth $19.7 mn, down 32.9% year-on-year and up 4.2% month-on-month.
