According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-July 2020 Russia exported 23.7 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 4.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 19% down to more than $9.2 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was up 4.7% year-on-year to some 8.4 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 19.6% down to $3.1 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export increased by 5.9% year-on-year up to 4.4 mn tons worth over $2 bn, down 12.6%.
Cast iron export dropped by 23.3% year-on-year down to 2 mn tons worth $622.2 mn, down 32.1%.
Ferroalloys export in January-July 2020 decreased by 12.9% year-on-year down to 430.6 thousand tons worth $533.2 mn (-31.1%).
In July 2020, ferrous metals export was down 15.2% year-on-year and down 28.4% month-on-month to 3 mn tons. In terms of value, it declined by 28.6% year-on-year and by 25.3% month-on-month to $1.1 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 43.2% year-on-year and down 48.4% month-on-month making 666.5 thousand tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 55.1% year-on-year and by 49.8% month-on-month to $220.6 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export was down 6.1% year-on-year and down 9.8% month-on-month making 671.5 thousand tons worth $311.2 mn (down 20.1% year-on-year and down 6.9% month-on-month).
Cast iron export made 281.8 thousand tons, up 28.9% year-on-year and down 57.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $90.1 mn, up 21.6% year-on-year and down 54.7% month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in July 2020 was down 14.3% year-on-year and up 10.4% month-on-month to 63.6 thousand tons. In terms of value, it declined by 34.9% year-on-year and increased by 10.7% month-on-month to make $71.4 mn.
